Wildcats Partner With Emory Healthcare
ATLANTA, GA-- Emory Healthcare and the Atlanta Wildcats have entered into a new medical partnership that designates Emory Healthcare as the Official Team Health Care Provider of the Atlanta Wildcats.
As the state’s premier health care provider, Emory Healthcare physicians in sports medicine have enjoyed a long-standing relationship with professional, Olympic, collegiate, and high school sports teams and athletes throughout the state and beyond. The partnership provides both the Wildcats and Emory Healthcare new opportunities to engage in community outreach and education on the importance of maintaining or achieving a healthy lifestyle through preventative care, proper nutrition, exercise, regular checkups, and screenings.
“Emory Healthcare is one of the most respected health care providers in the country and we are excited to have Emory Healthcare as our Official Team Health Care Provider for the Atlanta Wildcats,” says William Alford, director of football operations, National Gridiron League. “Providing the absolute best in care and coverage for our coaches and players is very important to us and Emory Healthcare is a great partner for Wildcats. We are excited to be working with Emory Healthcare.”
“Emory Healthcare has been recognized nationally for outstanding patient care, providing both great expertise and experience in sports medicine,” said National Gridiron League chairman Joe McClendon III. “We’re looking forward to the relationship and keeping our players healthy.”
“We are honored to have been given the trust of another professional sports team to care for their athletes and staff,” said Scott D. Boden, MD, director of the Emory Orthopaedics & Spine Center and vice president for business innovation for Emory Healthcare. “We have an extraordinary interdisciplinary team of physicians, surgeons, therapists and trainers all working together to provide the highest level of sports medicine care and backed up by the entire Emory Healthcare network for all medical needs,” he added.
The Atlanta Wildcats are set to begin competition this spring competing in the National Gridiron League's eastern conference southern division.
